So we admit it, we have a sweet tooth here at the Boardwalk. While other shorelines utilize grease pits, batter and Oreos™ and/or Twinkies™, we seek out the much more decadent, sublime guilty pleasures. The pleasures that, don’t get us wrong, aren’t the less calorie counted version, but at least sound like you are treating yourself to something one-of-a-kind. We had the pleasure of meeting a summer locale named Lainey, and the conversation went something like this.

Lainey: You guys serve up some decent ice cream.
BW: Why thank you!, Say is that a pie you are holding?!
Lainey: Yes it is, would you like to try some?
BW: Sure, but only if we can throw some ice cream on it…and maybe some more chocolate…and caramel.
Lainey: Well I wouldn’t have it any other way!
BW: Sweeeet.

Thus Lainey’s Pie of the Week enters the fray. Each week this summer, she will bless our kind establishment with some of the best, and unique homemade pies ever created. Smore. Key Lime. Almond Joy. No flavor will be left untapped. Take them as they are, or throw on a scoop of ice cream. Lainey’s Gramma would be so proud.

As many of you know by now, we love anything that can haul a child, or multiple versions, while we ourselves go for a ride. This ride being probably one of the few times we will ever garner anything resembling exercise. We also love bicycles, and the various forms they take. The surrey was, and technically still is, our flagship. Italian engineering with FIAT rack&pinion steering, the fully air-conditioned surreys have been trotting around families for years. Then along came the Alley Cat, perfect for the child still clinging onto those training wheels with their death-grip of fear. Soon after he had the Tag-a-Long, because thanks to uber-fertilization, parents needed to haul 2 or more kids at a time. So we went out and found something to help lighten the load, per say. Say hello, to The Madsen Cargo Bike.

American intuition, and a family with lots of kids to haul around, formulated this little gem. Touted as the mini-van of cycling, the Madsen can seats up to 4 small children in it’s cargo bucket. This is no normal bucket mind you. It houses 2 bench seats with seatbelts, and boasts an incredible load capacity of 600lbs. So getting the kids in is no problem, where to take them might be. With it’s ease of use and 8-spd shifter, anyone from big sister to Grandpa Joe will be able to scoot them from mini-golf to the ferris wheel and back.

We will be renting them by the hour $18, day $45, and week $99, if you would like to take the troop for a spin. Reserve them today.

The Madsen is just one of many great new brands that we are bringing in here this season, and we are excited to be the EXCLUSIVE dealer for New Jersey and Philadelphia. So when you are down here, try it out for the week. If you like it, come talk to us and we can get one for you, all put together shiney and new.

A debate was posed. What is a better treat for the tastebuds, Ice Cream or Pop Tarts. Being an IC lover for my entire 32 years I thought the debate, really didn’t exist. However, with the introduction of a 7 year-old girl into the household, everything is debatable, and usually is..for hours. So our Master Dippers have been hard at work this off season trying to settle this very arguement, and they came to one conclusion. Don’t.

In the glorious tradition of make peace not war; shake hands, not fists and boxer briefs, we present: The Pop Tart Ice Cream Sanvich. Enter Strawberry, Maple Brown Suger, S’mores and Chocolate Chip Fudge.

With 12 Ice Cream flavors on tap for the dip-assist, try out one of the 576 possible combinations. Chocolate Chocolate Chip Mint on Chocolate Chip, aka The Cho Chomp Chip. How about a Butter Pecan Strawberry on Maple Brown Sugar, aka Ma Butt Berry?

Take heed though, these Boardwalk Ice Cream Shoppe Exclusives are not for the timid. They are so delicatably rich we had to make them in 2 sizes. Regular for the strong stomach, and Halvsies for the kids.
